The third visit to the Camino... and it's a long one
So it's back to Manchester airport for a well rehearsed journey over to Seville again, to take up the Camino Vía de la Plata once again. Last month I arrived with Terry in Mérida, the Roman capital of Extremadura, though we only just arrived at the Roman bridge without crossing into the city. Rather, we only made it to the bus station. Tomorrow morning Tim McGough, my companion for this section, and I will make our way back by bus to Mérida. This is a long section of the Camino, as we'll be walking, Deo Volente, all the way up Salamanca. That's about 290km, or 175 miles. That will take me to the half way point to Santiago. This section will be 12 days of walking, averaging about 24km, 15 miles, per day. You can see the approximate route on the map below. But for tonight, it's dinner in Seville, and then bed, ready for the early bus North.
