The day started well with Mass at the Poor Clares' convent of St Paul. The priest due to say the Mass willingly handed over to me, and I was able to celebrate the Mass for the beautiful group of sisters there. After Mass, breakfast.
We set out. But I felt, psychologically, not really "up for" a long day. In no time my ankles came out with the same view. Meeting a very pleasant couple on the way out of Cáceres, who said they were going to do a short day, convinced me that a short day was in order for us too. The walk was 11km and was rather uneventful. We arrived in time for lunch and found a wonderful bar-restaurant. Then we settled in for a restful afternoon and evening, which was really needed. Back on the road tomorrow!
